A Netflix documentary will look back on the life and career of Michael Schumacher, with the full support of his family for the first time.

On August 25, it will be 30 years since Michael Schumacher made his Formula 1 debut, at the 1991 Belgian Grand Prix. To mark the occasion, a official documentary soberly titled Schumacher will come out on Netflix September 15th.

Discover the hidden side of Schumacher

This exclusive documentary is an event: it is the first time that his family officially approves a report on Michael Schumacher. In fact, many family members participated in the filming. On the program, testimonials from his wife Corinna, his brother Ralf, and her children Gina and Mick, as well as her manager Sabine Kehm. There are also other big names in F1: Sebastian Vettel, Jean Todt, Bernie Ecclestone, and others.

The documentary will return to theexceptional career of Schumacher, from his beginnings in karting to his seventh title in 2004. This feature film will place particular emphasis on the hidden face of the seven-time world champion. Renowned rough and tough on the track, Schumacher was on the other hand very warm and dedicated to his loved ones

. It is precisely this aspect that the directors wanted to show to the public. According to Sabine Kehm, the documentary will be “the gift of her family to a beloved husband and father”.

Schumacher: no news on his state of health

On the other hand, it is unlikely that this documentary will provide an opportunity to learn more about theMichael Schumacher’s state of health. Heavily injured in 2013, he has since resided with his family, who decided not to disclose anything of the current life of “Schumi”. The film should therefore not dwell on the subject, even if the promotion campaign before its release could be an opportunity to learn more about it.
