Want to enjoy your 1,155 hp V12 in the open air? Here is the Aston Martin Valkyrie Spider!
It is probably one of the most extreme convertibles in history. Aston Martin has just unveiled the discoverable version of the Valkyrie hypercar! And if, on most modern sports cars, the opening is a compulsory and rather simple operation for the manufacturer, it is a little more complicated here. In fact, on the Aston Martin Valkyrie, the carbon roof is also the point of attachment of the small doors. Aston Martin therefore had to rethink the design of the latter. They open now in elytron, and no longer in butterfly, with an anchor point just behind the front fenders.
For the rest, the pilots of the Valkyrie Spider should be able to take advantage of crazy performances of the hypercar without too much difference compared to the coupe. Aston Martin specifies that the weight gain is minimal, and that the rigidity is no different thanks to the carbon shell. No worries either for aerodynamics, central point of the car designed in part by theF1 engineer Adrian Newey. The vast majority of the Valkyrie’s downforce is produced by the enormous diffuser, under the floor. The top speed is 350 km / h roof closed, and 330 km / h roof open. Express brushing!
Especially since this Valkyrie Spider is mostly like a targa rather than a real convertible. The carbon roof can be detached quickly by opening the doors, but will not be able to be stored in the car itself. However, this will be sufficient to take advantage of theincredible atmospheric V12 in the great outdoors. With a red zone set at more than 11,000 rpm and 1,155 hp, the whole thing promises to be more than spectacular!
On the other hand, you will have to hang on if you want to ride an Aston Martin Valkyrie Spider: 85 copies will be produced only, at prices that we imagine Himalayans. And if you want to see it for real, no luck either. L’Anglaise will be presented at the Concours d’Elegance at Pebble Beach this weekend, but you can only access it by invitation …
