Concours d’Elegance: rarities on the program!

The Concours d’Elegance returns from September 3 to 5 at Hampton Court Palace. Beautiful bodywork, old engines and luxury leather goods are on the program!

With each new edition, its batch of superb old ones. This year again, the Concours d’Elegance brings together the best in the automotive industry. Rare models, pre-war vehicles, masterful pencil strokes… and hundreds of millions of euros gathered in one place.

Gulf – Martini Rivalry

The event awaited by thousands of fans still revolves around themed collections. From September 3 to 5 next to Hampton Court Palace, you can admire a host of Porsche grouped under the duel Gulf vs. Martini. Two sponsors directly associated with the competition thanks to their memorable liveries. Light blue and orange for the first, red and blue for the second. A whole era!

Four exceptional models are likely to attract attention. First of all, a rare 917 K which popularized Gulf in the automotive world, magnified by a more than singing flat 12 cylinder. It had finished on the second step of the podium at Le Mans in 1970. The other prototype in the photos is none other than a Mirage GR8 from 1975. It won with the double vice-world champion in Formula 1 on board, Jacky Ickx.

On the Martini side, these are the 911 RSR

which will be favored by the public. The 1973 premiere closely resembles the production model and is the first Porsche to sport the famous livery. For its part, the Carrera RSR 2.1 Turbo is recognizable among a thousand. “Pie server” at the back and prominent air inlets are on the program!

Ferrari, Bentley and Rolls-Royce at the party

A total of nearly 1,000 vehicles will be grouped around the palace. Between a Ferrari 166 M or an exotic Rolls-Royce « Silver Ghost » of 1907, the choice is difficult. Especially since the last one has not been seen for more than twenty years. Rarity on the way!

Bentley will also be at the party with several old vehicles. Bentley Sports 6.5 Liter from 1926, 4.5 Liter vintage Le Mans or the famous 8 Litre. This limousine, over 5.40 m long, was once used by wealthy Anglo-Saxon families. Beautiful people in perspective, hoping that the Covid does not come into account as last year.
