A Lexus LFA Nurburgring Edition sold for 1.36 million euros!

One of the 50 copies of the Lexus LFA Nurburgring Edition changed hands for more than a million euros during Monterey Car Week.

The Lexus LFA is a truly special model from the Japanese manufacturer. This supercar dating from 2010 produced in 500 copies has a 560 hp atmospheric V10 absolutely magical noise. While it is already an exceptional model, the engineers at Lexus have succeeded in making it even better.

Nurburgring Edition

Named Nurburgring Edition has been specially designed for the famous German circuit and receives some modifications. Among them, we find a fin now fixed, a more imposing front lip and specific sills, the whole being in carbon. The new rims signed BBS are magnesium. The 4.8-liter V10 gains 10 hp to peak at 570 hp while the reports of the robotic box are even faster.

Record price

Limited to only 50 copies, it is one of those rare specimens which sold for $ 1.6 million (around 1.36 million euros). This specimen bears the number 303 and has only traveled 1,500 km.

The sale took place during the Monterey Car Week auctions organized by RM Sotheby

. The sum reached a record level, especially since the famous auction house had estimated the supercar at a maximum of $ 1.1 million, which is the already tidy sum of around € 935,000.

Tough competition

By way of comparison, a “normal” LFA found a taker at the same auctions for “only” € 700,000. Also during Monterey Car Week, a Bugatti Veyron in W16 with 1001 hp, dating from 2008 but having driven only 500 km, changed hands against 1,3 million d’euros.

More than double the new price!

At the time of its new purchase, the LFA Nurburgring Edition cost around € 500,000. A great added value for this owner who was lucky enough to own one of the monuments of the automotive world.
