250,000 100% electric vehicles in Europe

The Japanese manufacturer is celebrating a symbolic anniversary, by crossing the barrier of 250,000 100% electric vehicles sold in Europe.

It has been more than ten years since the first Nissan Leaf was marketed, launching the electric adventure for the Japanese manufacturer. Today, Nissan has just announced that it has passed the milestone 250,000 100% electric vehicles sold in Europe.

In detail in Europe, the compact sedan Leaf was marketed to 208,000 copies, while the compact utility van e-NV200 found some 42.000 clients. In France, more than 30,000 copies of Leaf and 13,000 units of the e-NV200 have been sold.

Electric Nissan: new models to come

The Japanese firm does not intend to stop there, and has already confirmed the imminent arrival of a new 100% electric crossover, which will be produced at Nissan’s European plant, located in Sunderland in the United Kingdom. The British industrial site will also house a hub dedicated to electrification, called “EV36Zero”: it is the first industrial ecosystem in the world dedicated to electric vehicles, which required an investment of one billion pounds sterling (around $ 1 billion). 2 billion euros) to develop 100% electric vehicles, renewable energies and the production of batteries.

On the commercial vehicle side, Nissan plans to produce a future range of compact vans in France, at the Maubeuge site (59), which will include versions equipped with a 100% electric motor. In a few days, the Japanese manufacturer will unveil a brand new 100% electric utility, already announced through a teaser on social networks.
