The 2022 finance bill will provide for an increase in speed cameras for next year. In total, 4,500 new devices are planned!
The project of finance law from 2022 will predict a sharp increase in radars fixes and mobiles in the country by next year!
In 2022, the number of radars in France is expected to increase from 4 200 To 4,500 devices to December 31 of next year. It still represents a increase of more than 7%.
This inflation will obviously concern all types of radars. the classic fixed, the red light radars, section radars, site radars, etc. Not to mention the new urban devices.
But obviously, the type of speed camera that shivers down the spines of many motorists are mobile mobile speed cameras. These famous devices, an integral part of these new radar cars privatized. The latter, which appeared in 2013 only really started to verbalize recently.
And their deployment has accelerated since 2021 !
According to estimates from the National Interministerial Road Safety Observatory (ONISR), 313 people died on the roads in July 2021, in metropolitan France, against 293 in July 2020, which represents an increase of +7 %compared to 2020 but it is 5% less until July 2019.
However, it should be noted that this accident is part of a context of higher traffic in July 2021, compared to the same month the previous year, according to the Cerema.
If we look at the last annual report, in 2020 it was 2,780 people who died on the roads of France. This figure, which is 21% lower compared to that of 2019, is largely explained by the effects of the global pandemic. Containment, especially the first and very strict in April, drastically reduced traffic.
