Hyundai Seven (2021): the concept of the future Ioniq 7 SUV is revealed

Already announced a few days ago through a teaser photo, the Hyundai Seven Concept is now fully revealed. This new concept car foreshadows a future large 100% electric SUV, or “SUEV” (Sport Utility Electric Vehicle) according to Hyundai, which should be called Ioniq 7.

Resting on the modular platform E-GMP dedicated to the electric vehicles of the Korean group, the Hyundai Seven sports a minimalist and refined look, while being particularly massive. It is distinguished by a “parametric” pixel light signature, characteristic of models in the Ioniq range, which seems to fit into the imposing air intake at the front. The rear has a large glazed area, bringing more light inside.

The rims are fitted with active air flaps, which deploy or retract as needed, in order to cool the brakes for example, or to optimize the aerodynamics of the car the rest of the time. Hyundai does not give more technical details, but specifies that the autonomy is close to 480 km, and that the battery is compatible with a 350 kW charger, allowing fast recharge and recover up to 80% of its capacity in about 20 minutes.

Hyundai Seven (2021): a high-end and comfortable interior

The opposing doors invite inside the Hyundai Seven, where we discover a spacious and bright interior, designed as a real upscale living room. In fact, there are two comfortable armchairs, the configuration of which varies according to the driving mode, as well as a large corner bench at the rear. The materials used are recycled and renewable: mineral plaster, wood and bamboo mat, organic resin but also interior paint.

Hyundai seems to have been marked by the recent health crisis, since it offers in this concept car a ventilation system called “Hygiene Airflow”, which isolates the air flows on each passenger. The copper inserts and fabrics treated with antibacterial functions, coupled with sterilization of the passenger compartment using UV lamps, guarantee impeccable hygiene on board.

The Seven has a autonomous driving mode, which, when activated, conceals the control stick in the driver’s seat, to free up space on board. Passengers will thus be able to take advantage of the large panoramic screen of the on-board infotainment system, located at the front of the car. A mini-fridge allows you to bring cold drinks on board … But also to refresh a pair of shoes thanks to a dedicated compartment!

Hyundai Seven concept to be on display for world premiere at Los Angeles Auto Show, opening to the public from 19 to 28 November 2021, alongside the Ioniq 5 and the Xcient Fuel Cell, a heavy vehicle equipped with a hydrogen fuel cell.
