the future large electric already in images and video

The production version of the Precept concept, the Polestar 5 launched in two years already gives a glimpse of its style to threaten the Tesla Model S and Audi e-Tron GT.

The Precept concept is already 18 months old, originally revealed for the Geneva Motor Show in March 2020 (canceled). This vehicle gave a vision of a big sister to the Polestar 2. This imposing electric sedan therefore gave the replica to the Tesla Model S, Mercedes EQS or Porsche Taycan.

From concept to reality

Aesthetically successful, this prototype has evolved, because the manufacturer had confirmed in September 2020 a future entry into production. It thus broadcasts a first image of the resulting Polestar 5, as well as a video.

Good news, the future car keeps the outline inspired by the shark, as well as the shape of the optics. If the hollowed-out sides have survived, the opposing doors switch to a classic opening, which was shown in a previous teaser. At the front, the hood is less plunging, the shield sharper. In passing, the sensors for autonomous driving disappear from the roof. The rear changes little, where logo and plate migrate towards the center.

The image also offers a small glimpse of the interior, with a large vertical screen. We should find out more in a future episode.

Already Polestar 5, where are the 3 and 4?

Following the 2019 Polestar 1 coupe and the 2020 Polestar 2 sedan, the brand will follow the logical next step. The Polestar 3 will arrive in 2022. This electric SUV will compete with the Tesla Model Y and Ford Mustang Mach-E, with manufacture in the United States and China.

The Polestar 4 will be a larger electric SUV. Aiming above all at the “full-size” American market, this vehicle would be the size of an Audi e-tron or the next Mercedes EQS SUV. So will follow the Polestar 5, the sedan targeting a launch in 2024.

It remains to be seen if these Polestars will be sold in France. The brand is still in conflict with Citroën, having forced the ban on marketing in France, because judging its logo too close to its rafters.
