the Berlin plant ready to produce in December?

The final license could be issued in a few days for the Gigafactory Berlin, which could release Tesla Model Y made in Europe before the end of 2021.

Tesla projects are multiplying with great ease, but not all have the same destiny. The factory project in Grünheide, Germany is patina again, but an issue is imminent according to the latest information.

European Tesla Model Y from December?

Launched in early 2020, the construction of the European Tesla factory is in the final phase. Known by the name Gigafactory Berlin, it has already assembled pre-production vehicles, but cannot yet produce an electric car. The brand still awaits the final building permit, which will signal the official kickoff of the industrial site.

What a permit should be given in the next few days according to Automobilwoche. If the good news is confirmed, the first Tesla Model Y made in Europe will be able to roll off the chains quickly. Indeed, the builder still intends to launch production at the end of the year

. This is a delay of a few months, with the initial date being July 2021.

More than 1 billion euros gone up in smoke

While waiting for the good, bad news is tarnishing Tesla’s finances. The American firm lost the grant from Germany of 1.14 billion euros, following construction delays. It did not respect the government’s clause, obliging to manufacture the batteries of its electric cars as a priority in Germany. Indeed, the company has chosen its new Gigafactory Texas site in Austin, United States.

Elon Musk is not worried, however. The boss of the company responded on Twitter that « all subsidies should be removed, but to include the huge subsidies for oil and gas ”. The money not allocated to Tesla will be redistributed to other projects, the German economy minister said.
