the restyled version is revealed

The Skoda Karoq SUV is evolving this year with the arrival of a mid-career restyling, which offers it a more assertive look and an updated endowment.

Launched in spring 2017, the Skoda Karoq quickly became the second best-selling model in the Czech manufacturer’s range, after the Octavia sedan: to date, more than 500,000 units have in fact been sold in no less than 60 countries around the world. After four years of career, the compact SUV is now updated with a mid-career restyling, with a more assertive style.

Its front face has been modernized, with a wider grille with a hexagonal design and equipped with double vertical slats more imposing. The new headlights now adopt a more angular and dynamic look, and embed a LED light signature in the shape of a butt, while being always complemented by additional headlamps, placed just below. Full LED Matrix technology is also available as an option on the Karoq. The lower part of the front bumper has also been revised, with stylish scoops which give it more sportiness. New features also include new 17, 18 and 19-inch alloy wheels with a more modern style, optimized for aerodynamics, not to mention two new body colors: Phoenix Orange and Graphite Gray.

The rear of the model has also been redesigned for a sportier appearance: the spoiler is longer, while the styling of the rear skirt has been revised, with a chrome ring on the Sportline version, suggesting the presence of two exhaust cannulas. The brand’s emblem gives way to a large Skoda lettering, while the rear lights are the most remarkable new element: while the internal crystal structures and the characteristic C-shaped light signature have been retained, these optics are now more modern and slimmer, while being underlined by a chrome border which visually widens the vehicle.

Skoda Karoq (2021): recycled materials to bod

The interior evolves more discreetly, with the arrival of a new steering wheel two-spoke, an electrically adjustable passenger seat, as well as “durable” fillings, like the “vegan” imitation leather or the seat fabric made from recycled plastic bottles. The infotainment system is available in three versions, with screens of 6.5, 8 and 9.2 inches depending on the model, and is completed by a 8-inch digital instrument cluster now standard, while the 10.25-inch version is optional. The Skoda Karoq is still available with Ambition, Business, Style and Sportline trim levels, while the Scout version appears to have been discontinued.

the Travel Assist system now includes up to 8 driver assistance systems, including adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist and traffic sign reading. Under the hood, we find in petrol the TSI units of 110 and 150 horsepower, as well as in diesel the TDI engines of 116 and 150 horsepower, coupled according to the versions to 6-speed manual or 7-speed DSG dual-clutch gearboxes. The 2.0 TDI 150 hp can be supplemented by a 4 × 4 all-wheel drive.

Mladá Boleslav’s firm has yet to reveal prices for the new restyled Skoda Karoq, which should soon be available for order.
