A German taxi driver has crossed the 1.5 million kilometer mark with his Tesla Model S P85.
It is probably the Tesla with the most kilometers on the clock in the world: a German motorist, originally from the Stuttgart region, has just crossed the bar of 1.5 million kilometers traveled with her Tesla Model S P85.
Hansjörg von Gemmingen-Hornberg took delivery of his all-electric sedan in 2014, to complement the first-generation Tesla Roadster he already had in his garage. Long before the arrival of the radical Model S Plaid, the P85 version had an 85 kWh battery and sprinted from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.2 seconds.

This German taxi driver is used to driving very many kilometers with his car, and at more than 1.5 million terminals, his Model S has experienced many adventures, and is already at its third battery. The first was replaced under warranty at 112,000 km, while the second was used for 58,000 km before the third was installed.
The P85 version, unlike the models stamped “D” (for Dual Motor), only hasone engine, located at the rear. However, this one is not infallible, and had to be replaced no less than three times, before the car could reach that record mileage.
Hansjörg von Gemmingen-Hornberg didn’t say how much money all these repairs cost him, but he does give some tips on how to preserve battery life as long as possible: indeed, he never lets the battery run dry. run out, and never recharge it to more than 85% of its capacity.
