It’s official, the fuel discount will be phased out at the end of the year. It will be replaced by a new aid.
We have been talking about the end of the 18-cent discount put in place by the government on April 1st for several weeks. A welcome help in this difficult context, when the price of fuel exceeds two euros on average, whether it is gasoline or diesel. If it was originally supposed to end on July 31, the government finally decided to extend it, in order to allow holidaymakers in August to also be able to take advantage of it. Finally, the little help from the State will therefore be in force until the end of the year, but it should however evolve. After many rumours, now we finally know a little more, while Minister of the Economy Bruno the Mayor spoke at the microphone of Europe 1.
The fuel allowance for low-income workers and high-speed commuters will be implemented on October 1 and the 18-cent discount will disappear at the end of the year, announced Economy Minister Bruno Le Maire. #AFP pic.twitter.com/CQVUT2uZwf

The latter indeed took the floor to speak about the discount. He points out that ” we are going to replace the 18 cents, which gradually, by the end of the year, will be reduced to 16, 12, 10 “. He goes on to confirm that ” we will do it gradually, but at the end of the year, there will be no more fuel discounts“. A disappearance which could then coincide with the fall in inflation, which could take place at the beginning of next year according to the minister. This is one of the reasons why aid will be more targeted.
“The 18-cent discount on fuel will be maintained until the end of the summer. In the purchasing power bill there will be a measure to help those who use their car for work. » @Elisabeth_Borne #LE20H

Indeed, the government wants to set up a new discount, this time only for professionals who have to take their car to get to their place of work. To take advantage of it, you will then have to make a request, as Bruno Le Maire points out: “ You will go to the website of the public finance department, explains Bruno the Mayor. You will declare that you have a car. You will declare that you use it to go to your place of work and you will be able to receive the compensation“. Additional help will be provided for larger riders.
The government continues to think about new aid for the biggest riders around the price of fuel. We tell you everything. https://t.co/Yll8TdDNlH
