The Russian manufacturer Aurus has just unveiled the Komendant, a large luxury SUV competing with the Rolls-Royce Cullinan, and equipped with a V8 hybrid engine of 598 horsepower.
Launched in 2018, Aurus Motors is a Russian luxury automaker that markets itself as a competitor to Rolls-Royce and Bentley. After the Senat sedan, adopted by Vladimir Putin to replace his Mercedes S-Class, the range of the Russian firm is expanding with the arrival of the Komendant, a large luxury SUV.
True pride of Russian industry, theAurus commander consists of 70% of parts manufactured in Russia: the rest is imported from abroad, from countries that have not imposed sanctions on Russia following the Ukrainian conflict.
The look of the Aurus Komendant is imposing, with a large chrome front grille with 22 vertical bars, which is reminiscent of its competitor Rolls-Royce. The model is customizable thanks to nine body colors, three of which are new, as well as many customization options interior and exterior.
On board, the atmosphere is luxurious with a mix of Nappa leather, aluminum and Russian wood, as well as four independent seats, equipped with functions of massage, heating and ventilation, without forgetting many electric adjustments. At the rear there are two infotainment screens for passengers, while a central console has induction chargers, independent tablets and an air conditioning console. The dashboard has two screens, as well as an analog clock placed in its center.

Under the hood, we find a 598 horsepower hybrid V8 engine, mated to a nine-speed automatic transmission, equipped with paddles on the steering wheel and supplied by the Russian equipment supplier Kate. In detail, the mechanics combine a 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 with a 62 horsepower electric motor. The 0 to 100 km / h is swallowed in 6.5 seconds, for a maximum speed of 220 km / h.
The Komendant is also equipped with many technologies, including advanced semi-autonomous driving assistance systems, as well as an air suspension system, promising first-class comfort. The model will also be offered with an armored version, resistant to all types of attacks.

Orders for the Aurus Komendant are already open, at a price starting from 33.7 million rubles, the equivalent of approximately 596.000 euros ! For comparison, a Rolls-Royce Cullinan is marketed at a price starting from 344,400 euros, excluding options.
The first deliveries of the Komendant are expected for the first quarter 2023.
