For several months, Emmanuelle and Didier B. have been fighting with Renault to obtain fair coverage for the repairs needed for their Grand Scénic. No way for them to give up.
It’s a rather improbable story that happened to a couple, owner of a Grand Scenic brand new from 2017 !
Our readers Emmanuelle and Didier B. had a very bad surprisewhile their Renault vehicle only displays 86,400 km.
For more than four years, Emmanuelle and Didier B., from Franconville (95), have traveled the roads at the wheel of their Renault Grand Scenic 1.6 dCi 160 EDC de 2017.
However, this idyllic picture was tarnished only after 86 400 km. A few months ago, an orange “check gearbox” warning light came on on the dashboard.
The beginning of a long series of troubles for our readers… To remedy this alert, Didier logically went to a dealership of the diamond brand close to his home.

By “offering” Emmanuelle and Didier a halving of the total cost of repairs, Renault probably thinks he has fulfilled his contract with his client. But the account is not there, as the scale of our experts demonstrates.
Thus, the service life of a robotic gearbox is 250,000 km, that of an EGR valve 200,000 km and that of the timing chain 300,000 km.
Didier’s Grand Scénic not being 5 years old, Renault must therefore pay 80% of the box, 60% valve et 100% of the chain.
