Shortage of fuel: the holidays should go well

As the All Saints holidays begin tonight, the government wants to reassure the French despite the fuel shortage.

Will motorists be able to go green with complete peace of mind? It would seem so. If this does not seem really obvious, it is in any case the message that the government, which is intended to be reassuring when it comes to the smooth running of these long-awaited holidays by the French. In this gloomy period, the need for escape is indeed strongly felt for all. Problem, fuel continues to run out and many drivers are worried about going on vacation. Same story for professionals, who have recorded 60% cancellations in recent weeks.

An improving situation

But it looks like things are finally looking up. Indeed, according to the latest figures communicated by the government, only 17 % des stations-service would experience difficulties. They were around 28% at the start of the week. In question, a strike movement which begins to weaken, while it stopped in several depots and refineries. According to the government, the situation should gradually return to normal. Prime Minister Elisabeth Borne has also declared that ” 90% of highway stations will operate normally from this Friday evening.

Leaving confident

She goes on to say, ” I’m not going to tell you that the situation will be 100% settled for departures on vacation, but the French can leave confident“. For its part, Vinci Autoroutes also wanted to reassure users, promising that 90% of the service stations in its network were fully operational. Let’s hope that’s enough for motorists, a little scalded by this situation which has been going on for several weeks already…
