As France faces a fuel crisis, the mayor has authorized his agents to siphon off town hall vehicles in order to help priority services
In an exceptional situation, an exceptional solution. In front of the fuel shortage which has been affecting France for weeks, the mayor of this town in Val-de-Marne, Haÿ-les-Roses, has decided to make school bus fuel tanks available to its agents. Thus, the priority services, which are under its control, will be able to supply themselves with gasoline over the next few days.
By siphoning the busunder certain conditions, the agents will be able to compensate for the fuel needs of the city, while waiting for the refineries to cease their strike.
Therefore, the school trips are canceled and the 600 litres d’essence seized will power the city’s vehicles. In particular, the trucks allowing school canteens to be delivered and the elderly to be transported.
Asked by TF1the mayor of the town in question, Vincent Jeanbrun, says: “ With this system D, in five minutes, we will fill the tank of a home delivery vehicle, where it would have been necessary to ask an agent to go and wait an hour and a half, two hours in front of a service station« .
See the municipal officers in the process of siphon tanks of the city can seem totally crazy. But a municipality must meet many of the needs of its population, especially the most vulnerable. Town hall employees cannot afford to spend the day at the gas station when they have to deal with urgent problems in their work.
