Which electric cars have the lowest range?

You must have heard of the electric models that have the longest range. But conversely, which models are at the bottom of the ranking? Unsurprisingly, these are mostly city cars…

This is one of the biggest brakes on the purchase of electric cars: autonomy. Petrol and diesel had accustomed us to being able to hold a full for several hundred kilometers, which is far from being the case with all electric cars. Admittedly, the purchase price and the worry of not finding a borne de recharge reluctant to take the leap. But autonomy remains the most problematic. We often tell you about the best models on the market, which last the longest. But conversely, here electric cars that have the lowest range…

Unsurprisingly, these are the smallest models, namely city cars, even mini-city cars…

Smart Fortwo EQ– 135 km

It’s no big surprise the smallest car on the market that starts this ranking: the two-seater Smart Fortwo EQ. In its smallest battery capacity, 17.6 kW, its autonomy is limited to 135 kilometers. It recovers 80% autonomy in 2h19 on a 22 kW terminal.

Renault Twingo – 190 km

With a single battery capacity – 22kWh, the smallest of the diamond models has an all-electric range of only 190 km . The Twingo, like all the models in this ranking, was, it must be said, designed above all for the city. It recharges from 20 to 80% in 35 minutes on a 22 kW terminal.

Volkswagen e-Up – 258 km

In the same segment, the minicitadine of Volkswagen, la e-Up, is still resisting for a few months. It already sets the bar higher, with 258 kilometers of autonomy. Its 36.8 kWh battery recharges in 2h38 on a 22kW socket, and in 32 minutes on a fast charger up to 40 kW. It is now alone in this niche within the Volkswagen group, the SEAT Mii and Skoda Citigo having been withdrawn from the catalog.
