Electric Opel Astra-e: 416 kilometers of autonomy

After the thermal and rechargeable hybrid versions, Opel presents the 100% electric version of its compact family Astra. This cousin of the electric Peugeot e-308 promises a range of 416 kilometers.

The electric revolution of Stellantis goes through all brands, and almost all models. Opelle today lifts the veil on the 100% electric version of its compact family Astra. It joins the electric Corsa-e and Mokka-e, as well as the Combo-e, Zafira-e and Vivaro-e utility vehicles. The Astra and the Astra Sports Tourer weren’t for now electrified than plug-in hybrids. This new version comes at the right time, the Astra playing on the most buoyant segment in Europe. Opel had already announced that it wanted to equip each model with an electric version for 2024. With the aim of not propose in 2028 only zero emission models. This goal seems achievable, since only the Grandland does not yet offer an electric version, being for the time being confined to the rechargeable hybrid. The Crossland et Insignia are 100% thermal, of course, but they will be replaced by a new all-electric version.

156 horsepower, 416 kilometers of range

The Astra goes electricwhile within Stellantis, Peugeot has recently presented its e-308. The two cousins make common platforms – it was already the case – and now also common voltage. She thus embarks a 115 kW (156 horsepower) electric motor which delivers a torque of 270 Nm. It is powered by a 54 kWh lithium-ion battery, which promises autonomy of 416 kilometers! The brand announces an average consumption of 14.9 kWh/100km, figures identical to the Peugeot e-308. It is not known whether a version with a larger battery capacity is planned. 416 kilometres, that does indeed seem a bit tight for a family-oriented carintended to be most important in the household.
