The serial version of first 100% electric SUV from the Cupra brand was announced a few months ago, during a conference presenting the Spanish company’s strategy for 2025. The Cupra Tavascan will be the production version of the eponymous concept car unveiled in 2019, and should be marketed in 2024.

The Cupra Tavascan takes its name from Tavascan, a Spanish village located in the Pyrenees, a unique place with breathtaking landscapes and known for its ski resort. But contrary to what its name might suggest, the Tavascan will not be produced in Spain, but in China.
It is indeed in Hefei, in the east of China, that Cupra will produce its 100% electric coupe SUV, in a Chinese factory of the Volkswagen group. The Tavascan will rest on the modular electric platform MEB from the German group, which also equips the Volkswagen ID.5, Skoda Enyaq Coupé iV and other Audi Q4 E-tron Sportback.

If this information has not yet been officially confirmed, the production model should use the mechanics of the Cupra Tavascan concept, namely a 100% electric motorization of 306 horsepower (225 kW) associated with a 77 kWh battery, allowing a range of 450 kilometers.
The performances will be at the rendezvous with a 0 to 100 km/h in less than 6.5 seconds. The production Cupra Tavascan will be released in 2024, and we should know more about the model by then.
