The Porsche 911 DLS designed by Singer Vehicle Design could it be one of the best, if not the best, Porsche ever produced? Many people have asked themselves this question, as the vehicle is beautiful, well made and powerful. It is nothing new, since it was created in 2017. To achieve this, the Californian trainer Singer has teamed up with a British company, Williams Advanced Engineering.

And the result was absolutely magnificent, exceptional. So much so that even Porsche was convinced by this model, which it has never been associated with. Reassured to see that the Californian company had not paid into tuning, the German manufacturer was visibly satisfied with the creation of Singer. Today, the Porsche 911 DLS is back in the news. First, because its price remains a mystery. But also because Singer has been tackling new Porsche 911 designs since 2022, with the Singer Turbo Studies.

Before designing the Porsche 911 DLS, Singer Vehicle Design had already started to make a name for itself in the automotive industry. It all starts with the owner of a Porsche 911 type 964, Rob Dickinson. In the early 2000s, he decided to start restoring his vehicle. Faced with the success of this first project, he decided to continue with other Porsches. This is how Singer Vehicle Design was born in 2008.

Beginning in the early 2010s, Singer produced numerous modernizations of Porsches, all based on 911 models or 964 Targa. Around 80 models were designed in those years, before the DLS was imagined. The latter actually comes from an idea of ​​a collector, who asked Singer what a Porsche made with the know-how of an F1 specialist could give. It was then that Singer approached Williams Advanced Engineering in order to create the Porsche 911 Dynamics and Lightweighting Study (DLS).

Work as much on design as on performance

Two points make the Porsche 911 DLS such an exceptional vehicle. On the one hand, the bodywork, as is often the case with Singer models, has been made of carbon fiber. Of course, the interior has also been beautifully revised and the entire model sports a completely assumed vintage style. On the other hand, its performance flirts with that of a supercar. It is notably equipped with a 500 horsepower motor, which can reach up to 9000 revolutions per minute.

Singer’s Porsche 911 DLS has more than supercar looks. She apparently has the price too. However, it was never disclosed. And for good reason, the Californian company claims that each of its models is unique and depends on the catering wishes of its customers. However, it is highly likely that it will be trading at more than one million euros! To find out, it would be necessary to question the few owners. Moreover, the DLS was only built and sold for the first time very recently, during the year 2021. Only 75 copies are currently in circulation.
