EuroNCAP: the Peugeot 408 just misses the 5th star

That’s it, the new list of vehicles tested by the EuroNCAP organization is out. If almost all have obtained the maximum score, the Peugeot 408 just fails to reach 5 stars.

The European program of crash-tests EuroNCAP delivered its latest salvo of models tested at the safety tests. We find in the lot several highly anticipated models on the market. Among them, we can cite, for example, the brand new Volkswagen ID.Buzzthe Lucid Air that arrives in Europe, the bulk Lexus RX or the very last Peugeot 408, recently tested on video.

Models with the maximum score

Across all the models, a large number obtained a score of over 80% on all the criteria used in terms of active, passive, assistance and pedestrian safety. We find the following models (5 stars):

  • Lucid Air
  • Lexus RX
  • Mercedes GLC
  • Chery Omodas
  • Maxus Mifa 9
  • electric MG4
  • Ford Ranger

Crash test filmed from Volkswagen ID.Buzz :

The Peugeot 408, the Volkswagen Touran and the 4-star Ford Puma

In this new test series, however, three vehicles do not obtain the maximum rating of 5 stars. We find in particular the old monospace of Volkswagen, the touring released in… 2015! The latter goes back to the crash test and obtains an honorable score of 77% all the same, which is a satisfactory score given its age. the Ford Puma, presented in 2019, is also tested and obtains the mark of 75%. Finally, the latest innovation from the Lion makes its debut: the Peugeot 408, a new kind of cross-sedan. But the latter, weighed down by average passive driving aids, only gets 76%. But, quite surprisingly, it was not crashed as can be seen on the videos available on the site. These are the test results of his little sister, the Peugeot 308which have been taken over!
