Do you know the Camelot Cruiser? It is certainly one of the most opulent vehicles in history, and it is currently on sale!
Would this Camelot Cruiser be one of the craziest caravans ever built? Incredibly rare, it is in any case currently sale on the site Bring a Trailer, for a current price of at least 120,000 euros. A rather unusual sum for such a machine. Although caravans tend to trade at quite high prices.
But it must also be said that le Camelot Cruiser combines at least three advantages, which could explain why the auction finally ends at a much higher price. Already, this is a real “time capsule”, to use the words used in some comments of the Youtube video that presents the vehicle. Next, the caravan is exceptionally rare. Not only because of his seniority – it still dates from the 1960s and 1970s. But also because it was designed as a caravan for multi-millionaires!
Moreover, looking at the few photos accompanying the auction announcement, the caravan literally exudes opulence. Designed in the 1960s and produced until the 1970s by a company from Illinois, Edler & Company of Skokie, it was aimed at a rather wealthy clientele. Customers who weren’t satisfied either ungraceful and comfortable caravan models then offered on the market. But who at the same time, American culture requires, still wanted to enjoy life in the great outdoors. As well as nature expeditions.
In short, this is a luxury caravan. With, it must be admitted, a slightly bling-bling side (but which is also its charm). The interior looks more like a retro luxury hotel than a usual caravan. Simply, this luxury residence is placed on wheels. Admittedly, the decoration will not be to everyone’s taste, in particular the green carpet which covers the floor of the cabin. The walls are also covered by wooden panels, which would almost make one think of luxurious train carriages filmed in some Westerns.

Another point can hit with ce Camelot Cruiser : it still strongly resembles a truck. And it’s not just a resemblance, since it is actually mounted on a Ford C-750. The builder of the caravan thus didn’t bother designing the engineering behind the caravan himself, and instead took care of the decoration and comfort.
By the way, this Camelot Cruiser contains a little secret. The two small doors on the sides of the caravan, at the bottom, are not storage spaces for putting down your suitcases, as is sometimes the case in buses. This is a garage for park two snowmobiles! Moreover, the green color, very unusual for a vehicle, comes from these two machines, which were originally painted green.
