The beginning of this new year 2023 is an opportunity for manufacturers to take stock of their sales for the year 2022. In our regions, it is the group Stellar who figures top seller in Francewith no less than 29.3% market share.

The global automotive group is also pleased with its performance on electrified models, with the Peugeot e-208 which has risen to the top of electric car sales in France, while the new Fiat 500 is well placed in the top 5. The podium for sales of plug-in hybrid vehicles is occupied by three Stellantis models: the Peugeot 3008, 308 and Citroën C5 Aircross.

Stellantis: Peugeot dominates sales in France

And among the many brands of the Stellantis group, born in 2021 from the merger between the PSA and FCA groups, Peugeot is the leading manufacturer in the passenger car market, for the second consecutive year. The lion brand also leads the electrified vehicle market; with a market share of 14.5%.

In France, the Peugeot 208 was the best-selling model in 2022, with 88,821 copies sold, or 5.8% of the market. The 100% electric version called e-208 has meanwhile sold 19,222 copies.

Stellantis: commercial and used vehicles in good shape

The Stellantis group is also on the top step of the sales podium for light commercial vehicleswith a market share of 41% in 2022. Stellantis has 12 electrified commercial vehicles in its catalog, marketed under the Peugeot, Citroën, Opel and Fiat Professional brands.

On the occasion side, Spoticar, Stellantis’ second-hand vehicle offer, has become the leading French network for the sale of used vehicles. The company offers no less than 50,000 used models, the largest offer in France, including 10% with hybrid and electric engines.

Stellantis: many launches planned for 2023

To support its growth, Stellantis has planned many launches in 2023including the arrival of the new electric motor manufactured at the Trémery site: this will be offered on the DS 3 E-Tense, Peugeot e-208, Jeep Avenger and Opel Mokka Electric, and will offer more performance, as well as a new battery allowing a range of 400 km.
