The drama happened last Monday in California (United States). A car plunged 80 meters into a ravine, along a cliff. The father, who was driving, was arrested on suspicion of having wanted to cause the death of his passengers.

There are road accidents that shock even rescuers. A car fell more than 76 meters south of San Francisco the day before yesterday. Once they arrived on the scene, the rescuers discovered two children aged 4 and 9 and their parents alive.

The car plunged off a cliff before landing on rocks below. The ocean was a few meters from the place of the fall and the accident could have been much worse.

A helicopter to the rescue

Obviously, the rescue proved to be particularly complex, in an area where access is made difficult by the environment and the reliefs.

To reach the wreckage of the car, it was necessary to brandish a cable, which the children grabbed. One helicopter was sent to the scene to help the parents. The California Highway Patrol, which is in charge of Californian highways, released a video of this scene worthy of a Hollywood movie.

The father of the family was arrested the day after the accident. He is accused of having intentionally caused the fall of the vehicle. The charges relate to suspected attempted murder and child abuse.

When he leaves the hospital, he will be imprisoned to answer for his actions.
