The guangzhou auto show catches fire ! The scene is bewildering as much as it is frightening. On December 29, a fire was observed in full preparation for the guangzhou auto show, from one of the concept cars on display. The scene was even filmed by a visitor, thus giving more details of what happened. And although a wall half hides the place of the accident, it is possible to clearly distinguish that flames rise very high in a corner of the exhibition.

People even run past the camera, most certainly fleeing the flames. But then, what happened? According to the few information available on the subject, it seems that the source of the fire is a concept car designed by IAT, a Chinese brand. But difficult to clarify this story, so much censorship turned out to be strong…

A concept car engulfed in flames at the Guangzhou Motor Show

Although not recognized by the International Organization of Motor Vehicle Manufacturers, the Guangzhou Motor Show is always an opportunity for some manufacturers to present their latest creations. But this year could only go wrong. The show had already been postponed for a month, since it was originally scheduled for November 30. And as if the bad news weren’t enough, an accident had to happen in the middle of the event!

The video of the scene was taken by a journalist present at the scene. He had also taken advantage of his visit to take some shots of the vehicles on display, including the concept car that caught fire. It is thus a model brought by the Chinese manufacturer IAT. It is described as a vehicle a “small personal mobility vehicle” by Chinese media. However, the reasons for the start of this fire are not known. Or at least, no one wants this information circulating outside the show!

A censored accident

However, IAT has published A press release On the question. “During the construction of our stand at the motor show, the work area accidentally caught fire for unknown reasons. The flames are now extinguished and no one was injured. We are actively investigating the cause of the accident, and an official statement will be made when the cause is discovered.”says the company.

Very meager information, obviously linked to the censorship present on the show. Several journalists thus tried to get closer to the place of departure of the flames. Without success. Those who managed to capture a few photos of the rest of the concept car were even forced to delete photos !
