Mercedes has unveiled its sales figures for the year 2022, with 2,043,900 copies delivered to customers around the world.
This new year 2023 is an opportunity for car manufacturers to take stock of their global sales for the past year. On the side of home Mercedesthe German firm registered the delivery of 2,043,900 passenger cars over the whole of 2022, a figure down slightly by 1% compared to those of 2021 (2,055,000 units).
Electrified vehicles (rechargeable hybrids and 100% electric) represented a volume of 319,200 units, up 19%, representing a share of sales of 15%. Deliveries of 100% electric cars have more than doubled (+124%), rising from 52,500 to 117,800 units in 2022.
In detail, Mercedes recorded 635,100 deliveries of its cars in Europe in 2022, a figure up slightly by 1% compared to those of 2021 (631,800 copies). In this region, Germany is the most important market for the brand, with 229,500 deliveries in 2022, a figure up 8% compared to the previous year.
The German manufacturer also recorded 987,800 deliveries of its cars in Asia in 2022, a figure up slightly by 1% compared to those of 2021 (976,100 copies). In this region, China is the most important market for the brand, with 751,700 deliveries in 2022, a figure down 1% compared to the previous year.
Mercedes also recorded 327,000 deliveries of its cars in North America in 2022, a figure up slightly by 3% compared to those of 2021 (318,500 copies). In this region, the United States is the most important market for the brand, with 286,800 deliveries in 2022, a figure up 4% compared to the previous year.
In the rest of the worldthe Stuttgart firm recorded 94,000 deliveries of its cars in 2022, a figure down 27% compared to those of 2021 (128,700 copies).

Mercedes offers a wide range of vehicles, with vehicles fromentry level which sold 587,700 units in 2022: in this segment, the Mercedes EQA is the best-selling 100% electric model, with 33,100 units, followed by the EQB with 24,200 units.
The models of midrange are the most popular with Mercedes customers, with 1,101,800 units delivered. In this segment, the Mercedes GLC was the brand’s best-selling model in 2022, with 342,900 units (+ 3%). The C-Class saw its deliveries increase by 17%, to reach 299,100 units. The 100% electric Mercedes EQE was delivered 12,600 times in 2022.
The the most luxurious models signed Mercedes-Maybach achieved their best commercial year, with 21,600 units delivered (+37%), with good performances in Japan, Korea, the Middle East and China, where Maybach models sell more than 1,100 units each month.
