The German firm has just unveiled the Audi Activesphere, a 100% electric coupe crossover concept car, equipped with autonomous driving in augmented reality.
It is the latest in the series of concept cars Listen to the Sphere, which give a taste of the future productions of the firm with the four rings. After the Audi Skysphere Concept roadster, the top-of-the-range Audi Grandsphere Concept sedan, as well as the Audi Urbansphere Concept minivan, here is Audi’s latest concept car powered by a 100% electric motorization, and equipped with level 4 autonomous driving. .
Indeed, the manufacturer of Ingolstadt has just lifted the veil on theAudi Activesphere Concepta 100% electric coupé crossover that was unveiled during the “Celebration of Progress” event.
With its 4.98 meters long, 2.07 meters wide and 1.60 meters high, the Audi Activesphere Concept was designed by the brand’s American teams, and is intended for versatile use, both on the road than off the beaten track.
Resting on the EPP platform (Premium Platform Electric), developed with Porsche, the model has large 22-inch wheels dressed in Pirelli tires in 285/55 R22, and offers a ground clearance of 228 mm, with an angle of attack of 18.9 ° and a vanishing angle of 28.1°.
On the design side, there are very fluid but muscular lines at the same time, and a windshield that seems endless, allowing you to appreciate life on board even more. The rear window can be raised, in order to transform the trunk of the machine into a real bucket of pick-upintended for versatile use such as transporting mountain bikes.
Inside, there is a very refined interior, combining black and red. This has the particularity of transforming once the level 4 autonomous driving mode is activated: the steering wheel is hidden in the dashboardfreeing up more space to enjoy the journey.

When autonomous driving is activated, the “driver” can then put on a pair of augmented reality glasses, allowing him to see information projected into the passenger compartment and onto the road, such as GPS navigation for example, but also the car settings. With a simple gesture, he can then interact with this resolutely futuristic infotainment system.
Under the hood, the Audi Activesphere Concept is powered by a 100% electric motorization from 442 horsepower and 720 Nm of torque, enabling it to go from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.9 seconds. Its 800 V battery of 100 kWh offer him something 600 km range, and can be recharged very quickly thanks to terminals up to a power of 270 kW. Thus, it is possible to recover 80% capacity in less than 25 minutes.
Even if the Audi Activesphere Concept is resolutely futuristic, its design may give clues to the brand’s future production models, such as the future Audi Q6 E-tron to come.
