It will be 60 years in 2023. 60 years that the Italian manufacturer Lamborghini exists ! Six decades of sports cars, coupes, roadsters and supercars! The legend that we love to tell about the manufacturer is the alleged quarrel between Enzo Ferrari and Ferruccio Lamborghini, which would have prompted the latter to launch his own brand! Assembling tractors, Lamborghini was at the time the owner of a Ferrari 250 of questionable reliability. Asking for compensation from Ferrari, its founder and director, Enzo, would have declared at the time: “Let me make sports cars, and take care of making tractors”. A remark that would have put the main interested party out of him, and would have encouraged him to launch his own brand of sports cars. Lamborghini will be born in 1963and gave birth a year later to a 2+2 coupé designed by Touring: the 350 GT. The rest, and the success of the brand, you know it…

And what better than to highlight all this beautiful heritage to the public? That’s the whole point of Lamborghini Automobile Museum, installed in Sant’Agata Bolognese. The native land of Lamborghini, located between Modena and Bologna, in the heart of the Motor Valley! Closed to the public for restoration, it has reopened this year to celebrate its anniversary with great fanfare. Lamborghini retraces its history with a collection called “The Future began in 1963”.

19 models on display

In the program ? A retrospective of 19 Lamborghini models who have made its history and its success! The first of all, the 350 GT, begins this collection, its frog eyes have not aged! The big GTs of the 60s and 70s are here: the famous Miura, the Jalpaeven the rarest Jarama and Silhouette ! The manufacturer’s only four-door “sedan”, the Espada, is also present. For the rest, we find the 4X4 made famous by Sylvester Stallone in Rambo: LM 002. The most recents Poison, Sian or Centenario are also in the game! If you plan to travel to Italy to admire these beauties, know that you can kill two birds with one stone! The Lamborghini museum is indeed located at the entrance of the historic factory, which is open for tours ! You can admire the latest models of the brand being assembled (Urus, Huracan), as well as its legend engines. A good reason to visit La Botte!
