You probably already know this, but by 2035, all cars that will be sold in Europe will be exclusively electric. And for good reason, the European Union has ratified the ban on the sale of thermal vehicles from this deadline, forcing manufacturers to adapt. This is particularly the case of Peugeot, which had already announced a little earlier its desire to no longer sell any internal combustion car from 2030. But now the lion firm is now going a little further, and unveils its global roadmap for its future trendy models, as part of its project E-Lion.

Unsurprisingly, therefore, the manufacturer from Franche-Comté will give pride of place to electrification. But don’t panic, this should be done very gradually. In fact, in the first place, it is hybridization which will be deployed on all models in the range, from the 208 to the 5008 via the 308 and 408. This will take the form of a new technology, which takes up the PureTech 100 or 136 horsepower and which combines it to a 21 kW electric motor. Peugeot also gave a first look at its future models, including the electric 3008 E-3008, which could travel up to 700 kilometers on a single charge. Later, an E-5008 will also appear, thanks to the use of the high school platform.

These two vehicles could then see the light of day by 2024, while others will also arrive later. In its future project, Peugeot also explains that it wants to use more reused parts and recycle certain elements such as trim or even seat padding. The firm also wants to increase the lifespan of its cars, so that it reaches 20 to 25 years, against 15 currently. Finally, Peugeot has also set itself a zero-carbon goal by 2038.
