What’s New: Inside the Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe

Jeep took advantage of the Brussels Motor Show to present to the public the fifth generation of its large SUV, exclusively offered as a plug-in hybrid.

Since June 1, 2022, Jeep has only been selling electrified models in Europe, equipped with a 48 Vo u rechargeable mild hybrid engine, and even 100% electric with the new Avenger, which has just been elected “Car of the year 2023”. The new generation of the Grand Cherokee, unveiled in September 2021 in the United States and which is finally arriving here, does not cut it. With a completely revised architecture, the 4.92 m long SUV forgets the old V6 and V8 in favor of a 2.0 turbo-petrol of 272 hp. Associated with a 145 hp electric block, this provides a combined power of 380 hp (announced autonomy in electric: 51 km). The design also evolves, with a grille still with seven slots but redesigned, and fine rectangular optics. The metamorphosis is more noticeable inside, on the top-of-the-range Summit Reserve version, the only one offered in France. Very luxurious, it features real wood inserts, leather, a digital rear-view mirror and an amply modernized dashboard, fitted with not two, but three screens of 10” and 10.25” (25 and 26 cm). ). The third, located in front of the front passenger, is interactive and makes it possible to search for and give the driver navigation elements, for example. Available to order from €99,500, the Grand Cherokee should arrive in dealerships this summer.

Space is dead, long live Space!

If the famous minivan no longer appears in the Renault catalog, its name does not disappear. Indeed, as we announced, the “stretched” version (+ 20 cm) of the Austral will indeed be called Espace. We notice, on the officially unveiled logo, a final golden “E” in the shape of a plug dedicated to the full hybrid versions.

This 4.70 m long SUV, here in camouflage, will be able to accommodate up to seven people, and should be unveiled next March.

Jazz Update

Revealed at the end of 2019, the Honda city car receives a very slight restyling (front and rear bumpers) and is equipped with a new Advanced Sport finish characterized by a specific grille. But the main development concerns the power of its hybrid engine e: HEV, which goes from 109 to 122 hp.
