Wuling Bingo: a new Chinese electric city car

The Wuling Bingo is a new 100% electric city car that comes to us from China, but which could well be marketed on the European market.

After the Hongguang Mini EV, the Chinese manufacturer Wuling, a joint venture between the SAIC group and General Motors, has just presented in China the Wuling Bingoa new 100% electric city car.

The model will be officially launched in China at the end of this month. mars 2023but should not be limited to the Asian market: indeed, if it were to be marketed in Europe, it could represent a good alternative to electric city cars, with a price of around 15,000 euros…

Wuling Bingo: a neo-retro electric city car

3.95 meters long, 1.71 meters wide and 1.58 meters high, all with a wheelbase of 2.56 meters, the Wuling Bingo sports a neo-retro designwith rounded lines, oval lights, rims in a childish style, as well as a silhouette of a five-door city car.

Bingo offers several customization possibilities, starting with its body colors that can be chosen in white, green or black, contrasting with a black roof. A final pink livery with a white roof is also available.

No official image of the interior has yet been unveiled, but the first spy images to appear in China reveal a cabin with four seats, as well as a rather refined dashboard highlighting a large display panel which consists of two 10.25-inch screenswithout forgetting a two-spoke steering wheel, like the new electric Fiat 500.

Wuling Bingo: up to 333 km of autonomy

Under the hood, we find a 100% electric motorization which is available in two versions: a first of 41 horses (30 kW) and 110 Nm of torque, combined with a lithium-ion battery of 17,3 kWhoffering a range of up to 203 km.

The second offers a power of 68 horsepower (50 kW) and 150 Nm of torque, and is associated with a lithium-ion battery of 31,9 kWhoffering a range of up to 333 km. Top speed is limited to 100 km/h for both models.

Launched at the end of March in China, Wuling Bingo is marketed at a price of around 70,000 to 100,000 yuan depending on the version, i.e. the equivalent of approximately 9,600 to 13,700 euros. But if it were to be marketed in Europe, it would rather be necessary to count an entry price of around 15.000 euros : however, no launch date on the Old Continent has been announced yet.
