She was driving her car, without a license

With his hat which slightly exceeds the steering wheel, Queen Elizabeth II was an icon. Died on September 8 at the age of 96, she left behind a fine collection of automobiles. Even if she never passed her driver’s license, because she automatically obtained it when she became sovereign, she has a car collection including a Rolls-Royce Phantom IV, Range Rover, Austin Mini, Jeep and Bentley.

Since March 13, you can get one of the Queen of England’s carriages. More specifically, it was his Jaguar X-Type Sovereign that was auctioned off for a good cause. Its sale will raise funds for Red Nose Day. This was created to raise money. This is a fundraising campaign that raises money to help children living in poverty. Purchased in 2009 by the Queen, the Jaguar is emerald in color and has a leather interior. It has a sunroof, heated seats, parking sensors, automatic transmission, electric windows and air conditioning.

It is the British radio presenter Chris Evans, president of the CarFest festival, who organizes the sale of this exceptional car : “I am very happy that CarFest can support Red Nose Day and I am delighted that we can donate this very special historic car. I am happy to be able to share it with another enthusiast, especially for such an important cause”. Samir Patel, director of the charity is also enthusiastic: ” We are extremely grateful to Chris Evans and CarFest for this generous donation. This is an amazing opportunity to own a real piece of history and it will be a special prize for the lucky winner« .

According to Historics Auctioneers, the Jaguar served as a plan B for Elizabeth II when she couldn’t use her Land Rover Defender.
