The Yaris Cross has chosen its favorite domain: the city, where it shows remarkable sobriety and a pleasant softness. Behind its charming look, it also hides a rather well thought-out passenger compartment, with good habitability and a clever trunk (three-part bench seat, modular floor). As for the equipment, it is archi-complete. But that’s the least you can do, given the prices displayed! Finally, the Yaris Cross quickly reaches its limits on the road, with any performance and a sound engine.

Need to replace your compact diesel? The Civic e:HEV is an excellent choice! Not only is it sober, but it also emphasizes driving pleasure: lively engine, intelligent e-CVT gearbox and very efficient road handling. The Civic also offers accommodating damping and neat soundproofing, not to mention generous roominess (except headroom, which is a bit tight at the rear). Still, its size makes it almost a family, and its prices are quite high.

Dacia finally has its first hybrid! It is the Jogger which inaugurates this engine, taken over from Renault (Clio, Captur, Arkana, etc.), while retaining its excellent habitability and its capacity to carry up to seven people. Two small electric blocks work together with a 94 hp four-cylinder, via a clutchless gearbox. Everything is remarkably smooth, especially in town where you benefit from beautiful 100% electric phases. A real plus in driving pleasure compared to other engines in the range, especially since the hybrid also provides an automatic gearbox. If we appreciate sobriety in the city, we would have liked more moderation on the highway. In any case, the difference of €5,000 with the two other engines will be impossible to make profitable, especially against the EcoG which accepts LPG. But you won’t find a hybrid rival at this price…

Peugeot reinvents the saloon with this raised 408 which borrows styling cues from coupé SUVs. SUVs that it leaves far behind in terms of driving pleasure with its very agile chassis! And in this plug-in hybrid version, it boasts almost sporty performance, without being too greedy once it has exhausted its battery (which happens after 40 km on average). In the cabin, the presentation is modern and the finish, licked, even if the mini-steering wheel can interfere with the visibility of the counters. The driving position is excellent, and the occupants of the bench seat enjoy plenty of space. We are, on the other hand, disappointed by the volume of the trunk (amputated by the battery), even if it is easy to load. Finally, the equipment is generous on this Allure Pack finish, and the prices moderated by a potential discount of 8%.

The small steering wheel will not please everyone, and the digital interfaces are not the simplest, but the 408 displays a modern and refined interior presentation.
The new Sportage looks great both inside and out. It is particularly welcoming, with generous interior space, a modern presentation and a quality finish. Not even to mention the equipment, very complete from this basic finish (GPS, semi-autonomous driving, etc.). In this classic hybrid version, driving pleasure is preserved and its appetite moderate, except on the motorway. Finally, if the road behavior proves to be not very dynamic, the suspensions preserve the comfort of the occupants.

This “plug-in” hybrid class travels up to 102 km in electric mode on the highway! And once its battery is empty, it only claims 6.4 l/100 km, still on the highway. Perfect for big riders! On the other hand, its consumption climbs to 9.6 l/100 km in the city… We will therefore recharge as often as possible (in 3 hours on a 7.4 kW Wallbox), and we will benefit from ultra-modern interfaces, efficient road behavior , plush comfort. But we deplore the too small trunk and the high price, especially since the finish is no longer impeccable.
