The future 100% electric German city car, scheduled for 2025, will be available in a sports version: it should be called Volkswagen ID.2 GTX!
A few days ago, Volkswagen presented us with a concept car called ID.2all, which foreshadows a 100% electric city car whose production version is expected for 2025.
Of the size of a Polo, this future Volkswagen ID.2 will be marketed at a price of less than 25,000 euros, with an announced range of 450 km thanks to a 58 kWh battery. Placed on the front axle, its electric motor can develop up to 226 horsepower, allowing it to go from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.9 seconds.
But if that wasn’t enough for you, know that the German manufacturer is preparing us a more dynamic version. Indeed, its Director of Technical Development Kai Grünitz confirmed that his teams were working on a sports version: “It will only be front-wheel drive, no all-wheel drive”he confided to our colleagues from Top Gear.
Not enough to curb the performance of this version, which should adopt the badge GTX as for the dynamic versions of the other models in the Volkswagen ID range. (ID.4, ID.5, ID.7, ID.Buzz): “I have a figure in mind for the power”sourit Grünitz, “but it will be a surprise for the next time we see each other”.

The sports version Volkswagen ID.2 GTX should be launched simultaneously with the production version of the ID.2, in 2025.
