The Japanese manufacturer unveils the new sixth-generation Honda CR-V, its best-selling SUV in the world, equipped with hybrid engines.
The Honda CR-V is an essential model of the Japanese firm: indeed, its first generation was launched in 1996, and the model has since placed itself among the best-selling SUVs in the world. Now, Honda is lifting the veil on the sixth generation of the CR-Vwhich comes with a good dose of novelties.
“The new CR-V harnesses all the elements that have made this iconic model famous: avant-garde design, a luxurious cabin, top-notch levels of safety, functionality and comfort, as well as efficient and instantaneous performance”declared on this occasion Tom Gardner, Vice-President of Honda Motor Europe: “This new vintage offers the ultimate SUV, a premium product that is both unique and dynamic, which perfectly meets the current demand of the European market. »
The new Honda CR-V sports more imposing lines than before, with a grille differentiating the hybrid versions e:HEV and e:PHEV. There are tapered optics, combined with a light signature stretching horizontally. The rear lights take up the characteristic L-shape of the model, framing the rear window, and carry a unique light signature.
Wider, longer and higher than the previous generation, the new CR-V has a style studied to optimize the driver’s visibility, with in particular a wide and refined bonnet, but also generous glass surfaceswhich also contribute to improving the well-being of all occupants, reducing stress, and offering a better feeling of space inside, increased by a more generous wheelbase of 40 mm, which has also improved the loading volume by 18%.
The new CR-V is offered with a hybrid powertrain (e:HEV) or a new plug-in hybrid powertrain (e:PHEV): both versions benefit from a 2.0-litre Atkinson cycle direct injection engine, which has been reworked to deliver more efficiency and dynamic performance.
