France is one of the countries in the world where petrol is the most expensive!

France has just joined the Top 10 countries where gasoline is the most expensive in the world, which is not necessarily good news for motorists…

This will not have escaped your notice: in recent years, the fuel price has reached records in our region, undermining the budget of the French, for whom purchasing power is at its lowest. To date, the Government has put an end to the various discounts granted on the price of fuel, and the recent strike movements by the various oil unions have now been lifted.

But despite the end of the fuel shortage in France, the price of fuel has not resumed its normal course: indeed, the price of a liter of unleaded petrol is displayed on average at €1.878, against 1,720 € on average for diesel, according to the site Global Petrol Prices which draws up an inventory of the fuel prices in all countries of the world. For comparison, on average in the world, the price of a liter of petrol is €1.09, while the price of a liter of diesel is €1.03.

But this price varies greatly depending on the different countries of the world: rich countries generally have higher prices, while poor countries and countries that produce oil have much lower prices. In France, it is indeed the high fuel tax which is at the origin of a price at the pump which is almost double the world average! Worse still, did you know that the price of a liter of fuel in France costs almost 500 times more expensive than in Venezuela? In this oil country located on the other side of the Atlantic, fuel is indeed sold there at around €0.004 per litre…
