To tell the truth, they don’t really have a choice, since the European Union requires them to stop selling thermal cars on the whole continent from 2035. A decision which is far from making the difference. unanimity among motorists and manufacturers. Especially since some are a little behind, such as Seat for example. Indeed, the brand simply does not offer any electric vehicle, unlike its cousin Cupra which has recently offered the Born. Thus, she lets herself be gently cannibalized, which worries about her future.

End imminent?

So much so that the Spanish firm finally announced that it would end its automotive activities by the year 2030. A very unexpected turnaround for the manufacturer, whose situation is quite fragile and which still suffers many losses. However, there is no question for Seat of ending the life of its star models for the moment. Indeed, the manufacturer announces that he intends to keep them alive for a few more years. Thus, the Seat Ibiza, Leon and Arona will continue to exist until 2030, having of course benefited from a small restyling in order to give themselves another chance before the end.

Early retirement

But what about the Ateca and Tarraco ? The two SUVs should permanently disappear from the catalog of the Spanish brand. They will then be replaced by two models bearing the badge Cupra, of which we do not know much at the moment. After 2030, Seat will become a mobility brand and will focus instead on scooters and other electric scooters, aimed at a younger audience. We just have to wait to find out what the brand has in store for us.
