This caravan was clearly not designed for a nice little outdoor trip. It’s about a Mammoth Overland ELE, a leisure vehicle that has the distinction of being fully armored. In a way, it was built for those who would be really afraid of the wilder aspects of nature. Or for those who wait l’apocalypse.

According to the manufacturer’s website, the caravan is sold at a much higher price than the average vehicle of the same type. To buy one, it takes a little more than 61 500 euros. Certainly expensive and quite small compared to other caravans offered at a similar price, it nevertheless benefits from an armada of secrets specifically designed for self defense.

The Mammoth Overland ELE, a caravan full of equipment to defend yourself

The Mammoth Overland ELE was constructed from insulated aluminum and was fitted with several self-defense devices. Its designer added a night vision camera mounted on a pole and a spray anti-ours. When activated, the latter surrounds the vehicle with a cloud of repellent which is supposed to keep bears away.

The manufacturer has also thought about the risks of intrusion into the caravan. It is then equipped with pressure doors of type sous-marin which lock with four pins and allow the cabin to be pressurized to 0.25 psi. This feature also prevents repellent and other pollutants from entering the cabin. An EL Foust air filtration system also allows, according to the company, to eliminate odors generated by camping.

Optional bulletproof protection

A door has been installed on the roof to create a viewing platform. It gives access to a drone launch platform and a Starlink Internet antenna installed on the caravan. As for the interior, it is wide enough to be equipped with a bed, a large screen TV and a lockable storage compartment.

Many features of the Mammoth Overland ELE are electric. To ensure optimal off-grid power, a petrol generator, two 100 watt solar panels and a 20 hour battery are sold with the caravan. Too small to contain more than one bedroom, you will have to go out to cook and clean your things. A swivel kitchen however, was hidden in a compartment outside. Bulletproof protection can be added for 23,000 euros. We never know !
