In any case, this causes the annoyance of local residents, but not only. Because in addition to being bothersome and noisy, this practice is also extremely dangerous. Indeed, the number of serious and sometimes fatal accidents that have taken place during rodeos is countless. This practice applies to both cars and motorcycles, although the latter are more often used.

A strong method

It even happens that these are simply stolen, while in most cases they are not homologated for driving on the road. This adds further danger to a practice that is already dangerous. We remember that a few weeks ago, several people had a rodeo in a shopping center, right in the middle of the public. While it is difficult to fight against this phenomenon, the public authorities are nevertheless trying to act. Thus, the Val d’Oise prefecture took a strong and effective decision. In fact, she decided to destroy no less than 89 motorcycles involved in rodeos.

A disputed solution

While many have welcomed this method, others, on the other hand, are wondering. Was this destruction really necessary? Because if motorcycles were not not homologated for the road, they work and can be used on the circuit. They could have been used for educational purposes, for example. Not to mention the fact that all this is not necessarily very ecological. But the prefect defends himself, saying that ” destruction of machinery […] is pronounced by court decision, in particular when the vehicle is considered not to be approved for driving on public roads« .
