The department of Ain has taken the initiative to make 1,300 cars available to its caregivers at home, all completely free of charge.
Since the beginning of the sharp rise in the price of fuel, caused in particular by the war in Ukraine, it has sometimes become difficult to get around on a daily basis. Some have been forced to reduce their personal travel and have even given up on their vacations and other hobbies. On the other hand, others have no choice but to continue driving. And the reason is very simple, since they are professionals who have to take their car, either to go to the office, or to meet customers, or patients for caregivers. What can now be very difficult with the high prices.

Home helpers are particularly affected by inflation, while their salary is already very low. So much so that some have been forced to see fewer patients, which obviously poses a real public health problem. Admittedly, the aid and other discounts were useful, but everything was finally removed by the government. Fortunately, the public authorities are trying to act on a smaller scale. This is for example the case in the department of Ain. There, the prefect decided to make a move by investing 2.5 million euros per year for caregivers. An amount that is used to finance the car loan for them.

In total, more than 1,300 cars are made available to home caregivers, all free of charge. In addition, all maintenance costs are covered, as well as insurance and fuel. But be careful, because to benefit from this boost, professionals must have a contract of at least 104 hours per month, or approximately 24 hours per week. Currently, 150 cars have already been delivered by the rental company Arval, a subsidiary of BNP Paribas selected for this operation.
