The world’s largest car exporter is now China. A gain in the ranking possible thanks to electric vehicles.
China has just overtaken Japan in the first quarter of 2023 and becomes the first exporter automotive world.
Last year, Japan was still in the lead of world exports of cars. China was then in second place ahead of Germany.
But that was before. Indeed, China has just passed on your mind of this ranking in 2023. In total, it exported more one million of vehicles on the first trimester.
The rise is progressing from 58% compared to last year. China can say thank you to the electric cars that boost numbers.
In fact, more a third of China’s exports are electric and hybrid cars. This represents an increase of 93 % compared to last year.

One of the factors is called Russia. Indeed, this is the country that has become the destination number 1 Chinese exports. In total, this represents 140,000 vehiclesi.e. three times more than in 2022
