Until September 1, 2023, a large part of the A1 motorway will be closed to the public for renovation works.
Summer is often synonymous with vacation, but it is also the time when we find the Roadworks the most important of the year, which sometimes cause many traffic difficulties.
This is the case ofA1 motorwaywhich connects Paris to Lille, a section of which will be closed between August 16 and September 1, 2023for renovation work in view of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. Detour routes have been set up to continue your journey, but major disruptions are to be expected…
The tunnel you landy, which extends over some 1.4 km on the A1 motorway, in Seine-Saint-Denis between the Stade de France and the Paris ring road, will receive a major renovation of its electrical network and its lighting system. In total, more than 20 km of electrical cables will be replaced, as well as several hundred more economical and efficient LED lights.
While the works have already required the closure of this section of motorway for several nights, it will now be completely closed to traffic 24 hours a day, all day and night, in two phases: the first will run from August 16 to 25, in the province-Paris direction (between the Barreau De Liaison A1/A86 and Porte de la Chapelle), while the second is scheduled from August 28 to September 1, in the Paris-province direction ( between Porte de la Chapelle and Saint-Denis – Porte de Paris).
Of the deviations have been put in place to continue your journey from or to the A1 motorway, but be careful, plan to extend your journey time, as the disruptions are likely to be significant.
In the province-Paris direction, a detour has been set up by the Liaison Bar towards the A86 motorway, while to access Paris, a detour has been set up by the A3 motorway, towards Porte of Bagnolet. Finally, to reach the Porte d’Aubervilliers, a deviation is planned by the D30 and D24 departmental roads.
In the Paris-province direction, local diversions have been put in place to reach Saint Denis or Aubervilliers from Paris, via the Portes de Clignancourt, Portes de la Chapelle and Portes d’Aubervilliers. To reach the A1 motorway and Charles de Gaulle airport, a diversion has been set up on the A3 motorway, from Porte de Bagnolet in Paris.
