More than 54% of French people regret buying their electric car!

A survey reveals that 54% of French owners of an electric vehicle regret their purchase. We tell you everything here.

If the direction that the French car fleet is taking does not change, we will all have to take the leap at one time or another. I am of course talking about buying or renting a electric car. And in view of last poll of YouGovcarried out with more than 6000 owners electric cars for Danish startup Montaone wonders if this is really a good thing.

According to this survey, 54% of owners of an electric vehicle regret their purchase. A number surprisingly high in view of the significant increase in sales electric vehicles in Europe these last years.

Blame it on the price of electricity

Generally, the main criticism around the car electric concerns his less autonomy in front of cars thermal. However, that’s not the reason which is in question here. In any case, not to the point of doing to regret purchase from owners. Indeed, the figure around the range of a vehicle is – more or less – known by the future purchaser at the time of purchase.

No, here what poses a problem is the electricity price to charge his vehicle. And it’s not going to get any better since since the August 1, 2023the price of electricity is revised upwards in France by nearly 10 %.

A brake on the purchase of electric cars

Also according to this survey, we learn that only 22% of the French would be ready to turn to electric cars. After the rise in electricity prices, the points that curb most future customers are the lack of terminals charging and the high price electric vehicles.

To see now if these reluctance with electric vehicles will feel on sales.

Case to follow.
