Pininfarina B95: the first electric “super barchetta”

On the fringes of Pebble Beach, Pininfarina unveils the B95, a 1,900 hp electric barchetta closely derived from the Battista.

You most certainly remember the Battista, Pininfarina’s first electric supercar. A spectacular model, who has just given birth to a “little sister”. Here is the B95, a model that has almost the same features as the Battista, but without a roof and with a removable windshield.

Presented at Monterey Car Week, the B95 is the first electric “super barchetta” and only ten copies will be produced for the modest sum of 4.5 million euros, twice as much as the Battista. As a reminder, the production of this model was limited to 150 copies (50 for Europe, 50 for North America and the Middle East, 50 for Asian markets).

The most expensive and rarest Pininfarina

The Pininfarina B95 is equipped with an electrically adjustable windshield, which optimizes airflow and improves occupant comfort. Helmets in the same color as the body are supplied with the car if you prefer to put the windshield in the low position and live the experience of a true speedster.

As far as colors are concerned, the example presented at Pebble Beach sports a “Bronzo Superga” and “Giallo Arneis” livery, with 20-inch front and 21-inch rear wheels, painted black, which reveal the bright yellow carbon-ceramic brake calipers.

The interior of the B95 recalls that of the Battista, combining two screens on either side of the steering wheel with a small screen in the center acting as a dashboard. Given the limited number of B95s produced, the customization possibilities are endless and none of the ten assembled models will be identical.

1,900 hp and 500 km range

Beneath this beautiful dress, the B95 shares many components with the Battista, including the battery, which has a capacity of 120 kWh, roughly double that of a Tesla Model 3 Propulsion. It has four electric motors, one for each wheel, for a total power of 1 900 hp and 2 360 Nm, while 0 to 100 km/h takes less than two seconds. The top speed is around the 350 km/h.

The brand did not give the range of the car, but like the Battista, it should be about 500 km. As for recharging, the B95 accepts up to 270 kW of direct current, which allows it to go from 20 to 80% in 25 minutes.
