400 kilometers, in vain

After initially thinking that the pound was behind the disappearance of her car, Becca Hislop had to face the facts. His car had been stolen and his AirTag, hidden within it, too. Only here, it was not so simple. The “Locate” application first told him that his vehicle was 400 kilometers from his place of residence. In reality it was the thieves who had put the AirTag in a rental car in order to give a bad lead to this budding investigator.

Faced with this failure, Becca Hislop appealed to the Vancouver police, who found her car quickly.

The AirTag is supposed to make everyday life easier upside-down people or to find out where your jewelry, furniture, etc. are. The problem is that many criminals also use it. Thus, several women have also confirmed having found AirTags in their bag or car.

The Cupertino brand lets the user know an AirTag is tracking them without their consent. He must therefore validate or deny that it is indeed his tracker which is placed near him.
