In Maine-et-Loire, a service station broke a sad record with the highest price for fuel in France.
Will fuel prices go down once and for all? Nothing is less sure. Indeed, the overall trend is at best stagnant, but overall, prices tend to rise. And not just a little, when they have been particularly high for almost two years. In question, the war in Ukraine, the embargo on Russian oil or the overall drop in production worldwide. Not to mention the taxes, which currently represent 60% of the price per litre. And the government is not determined to lower these in order to help motorists.

Results, the prices are carried away and the service stations are now numerous to exceed the two-euro mark, especially those located along highways. This is particularly the case during this school holiday period, when demand is particularly strong. But some pumps display totally incredible prices, sometimes breaking sad records. This is precisely the case of this one located on theA11 motorway, in Saint-Sylvain d’Anjou, in the Maine-et-Loire department. This BP brand is indeed known for its crazy prices, often breaking records that we would have done without.
Indeed, on the totem posted at the entrance, we could read the price of 2.799 euros for the liter of unleaded 98. A very sad record, even if one wonders who could have paid to put this fuel in its tank. By way of comparison, the cheapest service station in France, located at the Intermarché de Quettehou in the Manche department, displayed the liter at 1.844 euro. Which is equivalent to a difference of 95 cents, which is simply huge!
