Mercedes-Maybach S 680: Brabus offers 850 horsepower

The Mercedes-Maybach S 680 is the ultimate version of the Mercedes S-Class, with a 6.0-liter V12 engine, developing no less than 612 horsepower and 900 Nm of torque, sent to the four-wheel drive of the 4Matic system through a 9G-Tronic 9-speed automatic gearbox: this cavalry allows you to go from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds, for a maximum speed of 250 km/h.

To go further, the famous German trainer unveils the Brabus 850 : the displacement of the V12 engine has been increased to 6.3 liters, while a special crankshaft, 12 bespoke connecting rods, 8 forged pistons as well as two Brabus high-performance turbochargers complete this preparation. The catalyst was replaced by a more efficient model, as was the intake with two high-flow air filters, not to mention an engine reprogramming. The set now develops up to 850 horsepower and 1,400 Nm of torque (electronically limited to 1,100 Nm)! The 0 to 100 km/h is then swallowed in just 4.1 secondsfor a maximum speed limited to 250 km/h.

And Exhaust system Brabus high-performance in stainless steel also completes the performance and tune of the V12, with an active valve system that allows the driver to choose between stealth or sportiness, thanks to the “Coming Home” or “Sport” modes.

Aesthetically, while Mercedes-Maybach models traditionally sport profuse chrome, here Brabus offers its usual style « full black » : we find a black body color, associated with black inserts replacing the various chrome elements of the original car. Several carbon fiber elements also complete this fittings: a front bumper blade, scoop trims on the front bumper, or even an extractor-style rear apron, covering the double black exhaust outlet.

Brabus badging also completes the exterior look, not to mention 22 inch black Brabus Monoblock Z Platinum Edition forged wheels, mounted on 265/30 R 22 tires at the front and 305/25 R 22 at the rear. A Brabus SportXtra control module for the air suspension meanwhile lowers the ride height by 20mm.

Brabus 850: more than €500,000!

Inside, as usual at Brabus, there is a quilted black leather upholstery which covers most of the passenger compartment, from the seats to the dashboard, including the door trims, the armrests and the floor mats. Many carbon fiber inserts also bring a spirit of sportiness on board, while no less than 300 plastic parts are covered with a “Shadow Chrome” finish.

On the price side, you will have to count the trifle of 549.020 euros to offer you this Brabus 850, excluding options, more than double a standard Mercedes-Maybach S 680, displayed from 247,351 euros in France.
