Bentley Bentayga EWB: it passes on Mulliner’s billiards

Do you know Mulliner? It’s about Bentley brand personalization department. Formerly an independent service provider, Mulliner is now attached to the manufacturer, and has its own workshops in Crewe, Bentley’s historic factory. They are the “magicians of Bentley”, in charge of bringing to the customers who wish it, personalized elements for their Bentley model. From hand-stitched leather seats to koa wood finishes. From the whimsical colors of the upholstery to the bespoke engravings in the cabin! An operation that allows increase the selling price means of the models. Bentley believes this gain d’environ 30% on the value of a car, or 220,000 euros on average in 2022compared to 170,000 euros in 2018. The original creations of Mulliner, the roadster Chimneys and the Batur coupe show how important this department is to Bentley!

EWB, un Bentayga encore plus grand

Mulliner now welcomes a new kid: and Bentayga EWB. Don’t see it as an acronym for an even more radical version of the Bentley’s flagship SUV launched in 2015 (like SVR or GTR for example). But simply a long version of the model. EWB (Extended Wheelbase) literally meaning ” extended wheelbase ! Launched in 2022, two years after the restyling of the Bentayga, it knows its first full year in 2023. It is a model that was expected, particularly for Asian and American customers, fond of large spaces on board. It also replaces the gigantic Mulsanne sedanformerly positioned above the Flying Spur, and which had been removed from the catalog in 2020. Under the hood, there is a mo4-litre, 550-hp twin-turbo V8 engine. It does 0 to 100 km/h in 4.6 seconds, for a maximum speed of 290 km/h!

The pinnacle of luxury

Mulliner didn’t dabble in customization options. On the outside, it inherits the new diamond grille characteristic of Mulliner products. 22-inch rims and satin mirror covers are also appearing. On board, 4 000 different combinations are possible ! Chrome, wood, glossy black: Mulliner offers the ultimate in luxury, with upholstery that boasts sustainably tanned leather, and carpeting made from recycled nylon. Bentley also played on the lights. With specific welcome lighting when the door is opened, but also a unique interior atmosphere: the Bentley Diamond Illumination. In short, you will understand this Bentayga EWB Mulliner is the ultimate in Bentley refinement! Its price has not yet been communicated, but a priori it is not intended for you and me!
