Bentley Continental GT Speed: a unique model for its 20th anniversary

This year, the Bentley Continental GT celebrates its 20th anniversary: ​​to close the celebrations, the Crewe manufacturer unveiled a few days ago a exemplaire unique de la Bentley Continental GT Speedinspired by the first production Continental GT of 2003 and made by Mulliner.

The one who inspired this project, the first Continental GT to roll off the production line from Crewe and bearing the serial number VIN20001, was exhibited alongside the 2023 version at The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering as part of Monterey Car Week. This emblematic model is also celebrating its 20th anniversary on this occasion.

Bentley Continental GT Speed: a tribute to its history

Having inaugurated the modern era of the Bentley brand when it was launched in 2003, multiplying its sales for the occasion by ten, the Bentley Continental GT continues to be the reference in terms of large luxury touring vehicle.

The first production model, part of Bentley’s extensive Heritage collection, featured a Peinture Verte Cypress Greenwith an interior in cuir brun Saddle and burl walnut inserts. The unique new example of this 2023 Continental GT Speed ​​features a configuration to match and inspired by its illustrious ancestor.

There is also Saddle brown leather and burl walnut upholstery, but the new 2023 version has subtle improvements: the “Saddle” brown upholstery is complemented by contrasting medallions in “Special Green”, all with matching contrast stitching. The dashboard and door trims feature two different finishes: open-pore dark burl walnut, as well as high-gloss dark burl walnut, separated by a thin stripe painted in Cypress Green.

An exclusive look

The interior also includes the Naim for Bentley sound system, the Bentley rotating screen, as well as custom door sill plates engraved “20 years of the Continental GT by Bentley Mulliner”. Silhouettes of the Continental GT 2003 and 2023 also appear on the dashboard, the center console, as well as the exterior door sills.
