Dacia is determined to compete with Jeep!

According to the leaders of Dacia, the low-cost firm would have all the cards in hand to go hunting on the lands of Jeep.

A few years ago, Dacia did not necessarily have a very flattering image, with its low-cost cars with sometimes quite average finishes and services. But over the years, the low-cost manufacturer has managed to develop its reputation by modernizing its vehicles, which are based on Renault platforms and no longer have anything to envy to the brand’s cars. So much so today that the Sandero remains one of the best-selling cars in France and that Dacia is a hit in Europe with its affordable prices and in particular its new electric Spring.

Rival de Jeep

But the firm of Romanian origin obviously does not want to stop there and wants to do even better over the next few years. To the point that she now hopes to go hunting on the land of another builder who in theory has nothing to do with it: Jeep. In any case, this is what the leaders of the brand say, who believe that Dacia has all the cards in hand to achieve this. Laurens Van den Ackerthe design director of the Renault group is convinced of this, and spoke on this subject to our colleagues from the British site Autocar.

A new role

He explains, in fact, that from what I see, there is no direct competitor to Jeep on the European market. For what Dacia could not play this role ? There are currently no mainstream brands whose image is associated with adventure and out-of-town excursions“. Dacia could therefore quite play this role, with its Duster as well as the arrival of a camping kit intended for the Jogger. Other models could also see the light of day a little later.
